Money Factor: Lease & Loan · Support

How can we help?

Money Factor decodes the real APR on any lease or loan in seconds. Type in your dealer's numbers, see what they're actually charging you. Here's how it works and how to reach me.

FAQ

What's a "money factor" and why should I care?

It's how dealers quote the interest rate on a lease — a tiny decimal like 0.00295. Multiply by 2400 and you get the APR (7.08% in that example). They use it because a tiny number is easier to swallow than a real percentage. This app does the conversion automatically.

How do I use the calculator at the dealership?

Type whatever numbers the dealer puts in front of you — sale price, monthly payment, residual, term — and the real APR appears live at the top. Tap Save Payment to bookmark this dealer's offer, then go to the next dealer and compare.

Does it work for car loans too?

Yes. Tap the Lease/Loan toggle at the bottom. Loan mode uses standard amortization (the same math your bank uses) and reveals the actual APR even when the dealer "marked up" the rate from what the bank quoted them.

What's "Value at End" in Loan mode?

Optional. Your estimate of what the car will be worth when the loan is paid off. If you skip it (leave it at 0), cost-per-mile is just total cost divided by miles driven. If you fill it in, the app subtracts the resale value to give you the net cost.

Is there a subscription?

No. One-time purchase. Buy it once on the App Store, use it forever, no ads, no tracking, no upsells.

Does my data leave my phone?

Never. The app makes zero network requests. Your numbers and saved offers live only in your phone's local storage. There are no accounts and no cloud sync.

I think a calculation is wrong. What now?

Send me an email with the inputs (Price, Down, Trade-in, Term, Residual, Monthly, Tax) and what you expected vs what the app showed. I'll dig into it.
